I was delighted that the Conservatives managed to win back the two East Sussex County Council seats in Telscombe Cliffs and Peacehaven. Congratulations to both Andy Smith and Nigel Enever.
However, while the local election results are encouraging, on 8 June our country faces an important choice: the strong and stable leadership of Theresa May for Brexit and beyond – or the nonsensical Jeremy Corbyn heading up a coalition of chaos.
Brighton Kemptown & Peacehaven is an incredibly marginal seat and every vote will count.
I was pleased to have been a part of Theresa May's leadership election team last year and have been a loyal supporter ever since. Whilst I voted to Remain, I believe that the British people gave us a clear instruction that they want to leave the EU and I have always supported Theresa May in respecting that instruction.
Only a General Election vote for the Conservatives on 8th June will strengthen Theresa May’s hand to get the right deal for Britain from Brexit.
So make your vote count - vote for me, Simon Kirby, standing with Theresa May on June 8th.
