Simon Kirby, Member of Parliament for Brighton Kemptown & Peacehaven was pleased to drop into Ovingdean Village Stores this morning to speak to owners James and Michelle Johnson about their successful bid to Camelot to re-install the National Lottery in the store.
James and Michelle took over the shop in 2016 but the previous owner had had the lottery removed. They wrote to Simon asking for help in getting the Lottery back in Ovingdean.
Simon wrote to Camelot and James and Michelle were told the good news in November last year. The terminal was finally installed in January and today Simon was able to buy a lottery ticket in Ovingdean which he gave to Jo Goddard towards the Defibrillator Campaign.
Simon said, “I was pleased to visit James and Michelle this morning and see the Lottery Terminal for myself. I am sure that local residents are pleased that it is back in the Village Store.”
