Simon Kirby MP has welcomed news of the appointment of the former Mayoress of Peacehaven, Helen Livings, as Chair of Trustees for CTLA Community Transport Lewes Area.
Simon has been a strong supporter of the Community Transport Lewes Area (CTLA) charity for many years and campaigned in the past to make sure that funding was found to enable passengers across Peacehaven and Telscombe towns to continue to receive this service.
CTLA offers a door to door service for people who are not on, or near, a bus route and to people who struggle to access other public transport. These services are particularly popular with disabled and elderly residents. The Charity plays an important role for people in need and helps reduce feelings of loneliness and isolation in vulnerable service users.
Simon said,
“I am strong supporter of the fantastic work that the CTLA does. I have known Helen Livings for many years and am delighted to hear that she has been appointed as Chair of Trustees. I know that Helen is passionate about what this charity brings to the community and wish her the very best in her new role.”
