Simon Kirby, the Member of Parliament for Brighton Kemptown and Peacehaven was pleased to drop into the Deans Senior Tea Club in Saltdean this afternoon.

Simon was delighted to meet with Maria Davey, founder of the Deans Senior Tea Clubs and to see so many local people enjoying the tea, cakes, music and friendly conversation.

Speaking after the event, Simon said,

“I have always been a strong supporter of these events and was pleased to be able to drop into the Saltdean Tea Club today. These events provide many older people with the opportunity to get together to find companionship, helping to combat loneliness.”

“I can see from their popularity that they really are a huge asset to the local community.”
