Simon Kirby, the Member of Parliament for Brighton Kemptown and Peacehaven, paid his respects to those who died in the World Wars and other conflicts at a number of Remembrance Day services over the weekend.
Simon attended the Remembrance Service at the Old Steine War Memorial in Brighton on Sunday morning followed by the Service on The Green in Rottingdean.
A wreath was laid on his behalf at the Peacehaven and Telscombe Remembrance Service by John Livings, a former local councillor, and at the Children’s Remembrance Service on Friday at St Bartholomew's Church by Councillor Joe Miller.
Simon said, “It is always an incredibly humbling experience to pay my respects to those who have died in the service of their country and it is a huge honour and privilege to do so on behalf of the residents of Brighton Kemptown and Peacehaven.”
“We must never forget the sacrifices made by the men and women who gave their lives defending our freedom.”
